TSI operates two (2) licensed Community Homes in Allegheny County: group home and supervised apartment. The group home provides a family-like environment, with: private bedrooms; shared living spaces; and group meals. Through a caring and stable environment, individuals participate in their home and in community programs and activities while receiving 24-hour staff support. Supervised apartments offer more independence and privacy combined with the support of 24-hour staff availability. Individuals share an apartment with another person, but everyone has their own bedroom.
Group Home
Large 8-person home located in the Friendship area. There are individual bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen, a large front porch and yard. Staff are on site 24-hours per day, seven days per week. There are typically 2-3 staff present during waking hours and one staff (awake) overnight. Staff are very caring and supportive. Meals are family style, prepared by staff. Laundry and cleaning are done primarily by staff with minimal client assistance. Transportation is provided or paid for all individuals.
Supervised Apartment
This three-story apartment building is located in Highland Park and consists of five apartments and one staff office. Each apartment houses: two individuals and two single bedrooms; living room; eat-in kitchen; bathroom; and storage room. Laundry facilities are on site. Staff are on site 24-hours per day, seven days per week. There are typically one to two staff present during waking hours and one staff (awake) overnight. Transportation is paid for all individuals.
